Anniesland is a thriving district in the North-West area of Glasgow. Anniesland is a mix of housing, retail and office space. It is home to a large Morrison’s supermarket which is situated near the train station. In 2002, the former Ascot Cinema was converted into flats. The situation of these flats is on the opposite side of the railway lines to Morrison’s and straight across from the vibrant Esquire pub.
Anniesland the area is served by a train route and a number of different bus operators. Anniesland is also home to the tallest listed building in Scotland, Anniesland Court. The building is clearly visible when passing through the area and is lit up at night time with multicoloured “spider” floodlights.
